In response to poor initial reviews and feedback, we will be continuing to work on updates and improvements for VeinSeek Android. In the meantime, for optimal results, download VeinSeek Pro for iOS. VeinSeek for Android faces challenges not found on iOS devices; standardized performance is hard to achieve across devices, given the differences in Android smartphone cameras, camera-light orientation, light quality, display, and a range of other factors relevant to the app's performance that vary between smartphone makers. Generally, the performance of VeinSeek Android is noticeably poorer than VeinSeek Pro for iOS. For this reason, after downloading, please check to see if VeinSeek Android works on your phone, and for your purposes. If it does not, request a refund within 2 hours through the Google Play store. As long as you do this within 2 hours, the refund will go through automatically. Even after 2 hours, your refund may be granted automatically within several days. If for some reason you are not granted a refund, contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number and we will provide you with a refund.
Unlike in our iOS version, there is no "VeinSeek Off" option, the flashlight turns on automatically (and stays on), the contrast slider feature operates slightly differently, and there is no button to capture screenshots. All of these decisions were made intentionally; more people were confused by the "VeinSeek Off" button than helped by it, many people never bothered to turn on the flashlight, and most people were confused by the high dynamic range of the slider and turned it up too far. We feel that this new version of the app is simpler and easier to understand – just open the app and look for a vein.
VeinSeek takes advantage of multispectral imaging principles and the intrinsic optical properties of skin to produce enhanced images of veins; it does so by boosting oxyhemoglobin/deoxyhemoglobin absorption contrast and reducing the contribution of superficially-scattered and specularly-reflected light to the overall image.
VeinSeek for Android is incredibly simple. Your smartphone's flash will be activated on opening the app. Point your phone at the site you want to image. You can adjust the depth of the effect using the slider bar. That's it! Happy vein-finding!
–Does this app work in all skin types?–
Yes! The effect will be most dramatic in moderately-pigmented skin. However, it works in all skin types. For very dark skin tones, use a phone with a bright flash. **UPDATED NOTE: performance of VeinSeek Android in very dark skin tones may vary with device and is typically poorer than VeinSeek Pro for iOS.**
–Does this app work for arteries?–
No. VeinSeek Android only works for veins.
–How deep can the app see?–
Depending on skin tone, VeinSeek Android detects veins up to 4-8 mm deep.
–My phone's flash is broken/My phone doesn't have a flash. Should I still download VeinSeek?–
–Is this thing for real?–
–My question isn't among those listed here. How can I get it answered?–
Just email email@example.com and someone will get back to you as soon as possible!
